Dear Emmanuel Family,
It is with great joy that I write to you! God continues to lead his church and we now have the opportunity to partner with another church in his kingdom! The membership of Twin Lakes Christian (TLC) in Elk River, MN, met on Sunday, October 30 and voted to join the Emmanuel family through a merger. Having considered and prayed about this opportunity, the Emmanuel Board and pastoral staff have joyfully accepted this opportunity and responsibility for adoption. We are immediately beginning the process of joining these two families as one.
For all intents and purposes we are now one church! We have some legal protocol that we need to follow in order to formally transfer the responsibility and stewardship of TLC to Emmanuel. We will have a special membership meeting on:
Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at 8:00 p.m. at both the Spring Lake Park and Maple Grove campuses following the Prayer Service.
Anyone is welcome to attend, but only members will be able to vote.
I would like you to begin to pray with me as we embrace God’s expanded vision for our church, now in three locations. I look forward to sharing the process that has already begun, leading to an official “grand opening” launch near the beginning of 2017! For example, we know that there are 767 family units who currently attend either Spring Lake Park or Maple Grove for church but live closer to Elk River, across 7 zip codes. I am asking for God to whisper into the heart of families that will receive the call to serve together with our new family in Elk River.
I would also like you to pray for the courageous people of TLC. They showed tremendous spiritual insight and burden as they walked through the difficult process of determining the next steps for their congregation. They truly have a passion to see the thousands of young families surrounding the church reached with the power of Jesus love! Pray that God will help them as they walk through the transition toward the new vision! Together we are “Empowered to reach those away from God, to grow in faith and to live a life of purpose!”
Together in the Harvest,
Pastor Nate Ruch
