Name: Simon John Risk.

 

Family: Married. Three children with my second wife Sherril. First wife Betty died; we had one son together.

 

Ministry Role: Visitation pastor. I also work with Debbie Schmitz and Time of your Life ministry.

 

Dream Vacation: My wife wants to go to Hawaii. I have been there and took some military training there. I would like to go back to Lebanon.

 

Regular Order at Favorite Coffee Shop: I drink my coffee at home.

 

Favorite Movies: Mysteries, Westerns and War movies. I liked The Gladiator.

 

Things that fascinate me: The new phones that are like computers and TVs.

 

One thing most people don’t know about me: I’m very shy.

 

When and where did you get saved?: November 1951 at Soul’s Harbor in downtown Minneapolis. 

 

Fears: Dying before all my debts are paid off.

 

Favorite book: Writings of Shakespeare.

 

In my spare time: Gardening in the summer and playing Solitaire on the computer in the winter.

 

My favorite actor and/or actress: Paul Newman and Kathryn Hepburn.

 

My favorite teacher: A high school math teacher and my Shakespeare teacher.

 

Least favorite food: Lutefisk.

 

Most adventurous thing I’ve done: I took my wife, four year old daughter and one year old son to Beirut, Lebanon to do missionary work.

 

 Life motto: Do what I can, whenever I’m asked.

 

Who inspires me? Successful people like Pastor Dwight and JJ.

 

Favorite television program: Vikings games and Perry Mason when it was on TV.

 

My hero: Samson from the Bible.

 

Favorite music or band: 40s music. Glen Miller, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey.

 

My pet peeve: People who don’t know how to drive when they are on the road.

My passion is: To please the Lord. One day I will answer to God for everything I’ve done since salvation.
