Name:
Elisabeth (Liz) Marie Martin.
Family information:
Married to Josh Martin.
Ministry Role:
Assistant Youth Pastor.
(My job is to make Jeff look good… lol…kidding!!)
I organize things and prove to students they are valuable.
Favorite Movies:
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days – pure and overwhelming femininity vs. pure masculinity = hilarious!
Classic favorite would have to be the Sandlot.
Things that fascinate me:
Musical talent, art, human determination.
Anything vintage. The beauty of a pearl. The perspective in photography. The ocean. The piano…a piano in the ocean would be perfect…
People I would most like to meet:
Anyone who has accomplished their dreams.
Jesus’ disciples.
One thing most people don’t know about me:
I have a tattoo on my foot.
How long I’ve been in ministry:
Six years - three full time.
When and where did you get saved?
At JCP on a Wednesday night, I was in middle school. I grew up in church but that is where and when I decided to make God my own.
Life-changing moment:
When I forgave my dad.
Fears:
Being ordinary, the unknown, and insects that move fast.
Favorite book:
Captivating by Stasi Eldredge.
In my spare time:
I frequently shop Target clearance items; I watch a TV series usually on DVD and exercise.
My favorite teacher and why:
Mr. Loo; high school English. Any book, any assignment, any topic, he related to our lives so it became relevant and real to us as students. He made sure we knew he really cared about us! I never knew I had so much in common with Shakespeare…
Least favorite food:
Cottage cheese or the square meat on a Wendy's burger. It creeps me out BIG time. I know that it is supposedly fresher than most fast food places but seriously who makes their meat square??? Yucky.
Most exotic destination:
Venezuela or Guatemala on mission trips.
Wisconsin -- It is weird there. J/K Bahamas.
What makes you laugh?
Almost anything; it is really easy to make me laugh!
Least favorite thing to do:
Play board games (the feeling is in the title: bored) – I need to move.
Favorite scripture verse:
Phil. 1:21 – For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Life motto:
LOVE is so simple and will change everything.
Who inspires me?
Passionate people and people who serve and never get credit for it.
My hero:
Mother Teresa – for abandoning herself to love people. An ultimate servant!
Favorite music or band
:
I love worship music...anything with a piano...Cities 97 is my favorite radio station...I love the old stuff too...Frank Sinatra will always be in my heart...anything but that screaming stuff
,
it gives me anxiety!
My passion is:
My purpose and passion in life is to love people like God did as much as I possibly can until the day I die! I think that everyone needs at least one person to believe in them and genuinely care about them even if they don't deserve it or they will never be all they were meant to be. Love heals, restores and gives life, and I believe that it is one of the deepest parts of the heart of God.
I am also very passionate about shoes…!
